County Executive and Mayor to Hold Joint Town Hall Meetings in City of Racine

Racine – As the community prepares for Foxconn and an influx of jobs, Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave and Racine Mayor Cory Mason have scheduled a series of town hall meetings in the City of Racine to listen to residents’ input and offer information on local workforce initiatives.

The town halls will be held in partnership with City of Racine alders and Racine County supervisors. They are scheduled for:

  • 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the George Bray Neighborhood YMCA, 924 Center St.

  • Noon to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the John Bryant Center, 601 21st St.

In addition, Mason will join Delagrave in a conversation with the Hispanic community from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, 2221 Douglas Ave.

“While the local economy has undoubtedly improved, far too many people have been unable to share in the community’s success. With tremendous opportunities on the horizon in Racine County, we don’t want anyone to be left on the sidelines,” Delagrave said. “We are working hard to put residents in position to take advantage of this remarkable moment in our county’s history.”

“Residents ask me all the time, ‘When are good paying jobs coming back to the area?’ They are coming. If we train people for the jobs, city residents will be able to get middle class jobs. That is why it is so important that we jointly do these town hall meetings,” Mason added.
