On September 18, Governor Scott Walker signed the Wisconn Valley Special Session Bill into law, paving the way for construction of Foxconn's $10 billion manufacturing campus in Racine County. Check out photos from the signing:
Balancing the upside of $83 billion in new economic activity against an incentive package that pays out only as Foxconn delivers on its promises is a risk well worth the reward. Wisconsin will realize that reward through an opportunity to build on our manufacturing prowess, our skilled workforce and our improving business climate.
MMAC and M7 worked closely with the Governor, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and local economic development partners to make the pitch. Several MMAC board members engaged to vet this project. It is our assessment that the state incentive package being proposed for Foxconn deserves MMAC’s full support given the potential from Foxconn’s investment, including the impact from employment and capital investment.
Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn), the world’s largest electronics manufacturing services provider, has announced it will invest $10 billion by 2020 to build a world-class manufacturing campus in southeastern Wisconsin. This project represents the largest corporate attraction project in U.S. history as measured by jobs.
