Vertical Construction Underway on Foxconn's Fab Facility
Vertical construction is underway on Foxconn Technology Group's 993,460 square-foot Gen6 Fab facility at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in the Village of Mount Pleasant. This major milestone comes after work began on the foundations and footings for the facility in June.
This phase of construction will include more than 400 precast panels, each averaging 40 feet in height and weighing more than 32 tons. Waukesha-based Spancrete is making the panels in Valders, Wisconsin.
"Our goal is to have the building enclosed by year end," said Adam Jelen, senior vice president, Central Midwest Division, for Gilbane Building Co.
As previously announced, the facility is expected to begin manufacturing operations in the fourth quarter of 2020.
